MFHC's statement on Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade

Today’s ruling is devastating – for the health and wellbeing of all people, for providers, and for the health safety net.

For the first time in its history, the Court took away a federal constitutional right and states like Missouri have already moved to ban abortion. These barriers to sexual and reproductive care fall hardest on young people, LGBTQIA folks, and people of color. Let's be very clear: A person's income – or state of residence – should not determine their access to healthcare, including abortion.

Title X and The Right Time health centers will continue to play an even more critical role as a source of safety, trust, and information for their clients. Today and always, Missouri Family Health Council will continue to ensure quality, comprehensive healthcare and education for everyone in need of services. This next chapter in sexual and reproductive healthcare will no doubt be challenging, but MFHC, our providers, and our partners are committed to this work, this fight, and equitable access for all.
